How much does it cost to start window tinting business?
You can start a window tint business with an investment of just $1000 AUD, The Essential tint tools you require cost around $200 to $300 and a roll of film which is 100cm x 30m will cost $200 to $250. You will require at least 2 different shades i.e. 35% vlt and 20% vlt roll.
Where will I get the Tools & Films from?
When you enroll in our online course, you will get the list of suppliers for tools and films that we use for our tinting business.

Is it hard to learn how to tint windows?

What is the Profit Margin per car?
Great question, it depends if you are home based business this are roughly the prices and profits per car.
- Hatchback – $250 and material cost is $20 so you make $230 profit or we call it labour cost.
- Sedan – $300 and material cost $30 you make $270 profit
- Wagon/4×4 – $350 material cost is $45 and you make $315 profit.
Also, sometimes customers have old tint on the car, which we have to remove and that is an additional cost of $100 to remove the old film before the new installation.

Now, if you are a tint shop your prices are going to be – Hatchback, Sedan, Wagon, any car – $395 (starting price) and material cost is $20 to $30 so you make $350 profit per car or we call it labour cost.

How many cars can you realistically tint in one day?
An experienced tinter can tint 3-4 cars per day. Some days, depending on the cars, we can do six cars. When a person is starting out and just learning, they should set realistic expectations. To finish a car in a day is realistic, and probably if they did that every day for a month, by the end of the month they should be able to get up to two cars in a day.
Do you need to have employees, or can you do this business by yourself?
You don’t need any employees, you can work by yourself and still make 6 figures income.
